IN THIS LESSON
In this lesson I show you how to complete the slip stitch and the half double crochet. You can think of in terms of steps and height as the slip stitch being less than a single crochet and the half double crochet being more than a single crochet. What I mean by this is that for a slip stitch, you have one less step, and it makes a shorter stitch. You go through your stich from the previous row (or the chain st) and pull a loop through the stitch and the loop already on your hook.
Conversely, the half double is one more step than the single crochet and is taller. The half double crochet is completed by yarning over your hook before going into the stitch, yarn over and pulling up a loop (creating 3 loops on the hook) and then yarn over and pull through all 3 loops.
I hope this lesson has been helpful and easy to understand!
Look forward to my next lesson where I show you larger stitches and explain a little bit about the logical pattern to creating taller stitches.
Also look for a future lesson on how to read and understand crochet charts!
As always, stay crafty, Friends!
