Finished projects and upcoming projects

In my previous blog post, I introduced you to the projects that I was planning to work on next. I am excited to let you know that I have finished my fabric skeleton dolls and their accessories, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the way they turned out. They are absolutely precious. I may decide to add some physical braids to the girl doll, but I haven’t decided yet. I’m so happy with the way she turned out and how cute she is, that I will likely leave her the way she is. However, I’ll be sure to make a post if I decide to add anything. I took the time to hand sew the holes where I turned them right side out closed, and then I sewed their bows together. I used a safety pin through the back of her bow in case I want to remove it, change its position or exchange it for another ;) I also sewed snaps on the boy doll’s bowtie and his overalls in case I need to wash them eventually.

I am very proud of both of these dolls and the fact that I completed them in less than a day.

I also worked on my Mr. Bones doll during the same day. I got almost all of his parts cut out, sewed together and turned, but decided to wait until another day to lightly stuff his parts, and sew along the outer edge of his black background, sewing the turning holes shut. I think he turned out great as well, and now I just have to decide where to put him. I thought about putting one of those command hooks on the wall above my couch and hanging him there. I also thought about using a long tie out of nylon micro macrame cord and putting him on the outside of my apartment door attached from the inside. I don’t know. I thought about it, but the problem with that is he would cover up my peep hole and my apartment number. I guess if someone really needed to, they could just move Mr. Bones out of the way…

Let me know what your thoughts are!

I created a YouTube Caturday craft video about these projects on my channel that will be coming out this Saturday! Unfortunately, my camera died during filming me sewing on Mr. Bones, and then my SD card ran out of memory! I was a little upset with the fact that I didn’t get to film me working on the two little skeleton dolls, but I digress.

My next project that I’ll be working on is my purple mystical black cat shirt I showed in my previous blog. I’m excited for it, and I am planning to work on it this upcoming weekend and film another Caturday craft video with a sewing montage. Look forward to that video coming out on my YouTube Channel two Saturdays from this post!
