Ongoing Halloween Costume
I love Halloween, and every year growing up, my mom always made my costume for me. As I’ve gotten older, making a new costume for myself every year has been extremely difficult, and honestly, I think I’ve only had two different costumes since 2019. In 2018 my parents bought me a green renaissance dress with matching green leather leaf shoes. The perfect combination for an elf costume. Paired with some of my jewelry I had from my senior prom and a silver cloak, it was the perfect costume.
I saw this beautiful picture on stock images, and I thought: “wow this looks like the perfect spot for an elf!”
But I wanted more. I wanted a cottage core, woodland fairy feel to it. After I lost weight in 2020-2021, my dress is a little bit too low cut in the front for my liking, and I decided to make some accessories for my costume. I didn’t finish them in time for Halloween last year, and it has been an ongoing effort throughout the spring. I think I have finally reached a spot where I am content—for now. I created a corset with an attached skirt to go over my dress complete with a matching lace caplet. Sadly enough, I wasn’t happy to just leave it there for the time being. I wanted forager bags to attach to my skirt. So, I created several forager bags: a mushroom shaped one, a Leaf shaped one, a potion bottle, and finally a cinched mini flap bag. Original patterns and inspiration are linked below the picture gallery.
I have some ideas for future add on jewelry, but that will be an adventure for another day!

I just wanted to make a new update to my Halloween Costume this year! I didn’t go out and do anything for Halloween. I spent most of the day with Seraphina curled up on my lap, but I did get dressed up in my costume and did my makeup just to get a few pictures to post here on the blog! I found this amazing app called Photoroom (who would want to gatekeep something that they find helpful and enjoy?). Photoroom allows me to edit images, and I have been using it to create some of the new fancy images on my shop! It’s also really good at creating AI backgrounds like the ones in my Halloween Pictures below! I had a ton of fun editing these pictures. Enjoy!
